Cities and nature

The real discovery in visiting New-Zealand big cities is to realize how they all are looking at their natural environment.

In Auckland or Wellington, living places seem to be looking out to the sea more than the middle of the city, a very nice and lively atmosphere next to the ocean, in surprising but nice bays.

Life in Christchurch seems to be more serious and calm, a city mainly organized around its culture and history. But even here, sea, mountains or land are never very far.

Queenstown is a beautiful town settled between a lake and snowy mountains. A place with a special atmosphere, here you can practice sports and have fun and a lot of parties!

New-Zealand big cities are like the rest of the country: looking at nature!

Mountains and volcanoes

Mounts and hills, mountains and lakes, curving roads… as soon as we started to drive trough the country, we realized how New-Zealand is a country full of surprises, landscapes all different and all spectacular.

Strange to discover the geysers, parks where water comes out from the earth, muddy and bubbly ponds, smokes full of sulphuric scents. After a long day wandering in the fresh air, we spend the evening sitting on a sofa next to the fire place in an old and cosy place.

We could have spent more days discovering Rotorua, a place with history and traditions, a city around a lake. And we could have woken up everyday very early to watch the rising sun painting waters in gold...
