Onsen One of our most typical and best moments in Japan was our discovery of the Japanese hot springs, called onsen. After one day hiking in Hakone, a famous region with hot springs and the Mt Fuji, we were more than happy to spend some time into warm water. Get naked, wash yourself-sitting on wooden stools provided, and ladle hot water over your body, using one of the buckets, while outside the bath. Then, and only then, you can gracefully ease yourself into the water, choosing your bath from very cold to very hot. Try not to miss this typical tradition, and to be accompanied especially if it is the first time for you... this will help you following the onsen etiquette.
