The parks Tokyo's parks in different areas are embedded in each village discrepancies. In this city, a park is not only a park; the differences between the landscapes, people and atmosphere are surprising. From the very quiet Imperial Palace Garden to the lively Ueno Park; from the "international" atmosphere of the Shinjuku-koen to the all-Japanese impression of Meiji-jingu-neien… each place has its own personality, and the common characteristic to be fantastic places to get away from Tokyo's bustling ambiguities. |

Our favorite: Ueno Park, with its temples, museums, fountains and ponds... and most of all because it is THE place to be during cherry blossoms. Sakura happens every year, but it is always an exceptional period in Japan, with everyone meeting for picnics under the flowering trees. You only wish to join a group and have a glass of sake with yakitoris, sitting under a tree in a relaxed atmosphere. |

Temples in Kyoto, Nara, Nikko, Kamakura et Miyajima We have discovered about 40 temples in the cities we visited, and every place was worth stopping at... All the temples, Buddhists or Shinto, are very different, and we never had the feeling to see too many of them. Each place is also an occasion to be in quiet and relaxed location. Never too many decorations, never too many colors, and never too many scents: here everything is measured and discreet. An idea of religion and also a specific taste for simplicity...
