We saw emus of course, but also a few snakes, lizards, many different birds: eagles, parrots and pelicans...

We also admired some crocodiles, which came close to the boat attracted by the meat thrown out by the captain...

Protected encounters sometimes, with sleepy but so cute koalas, a Tasmanian devil running around in its pen, owls and bats also...

Desert and sand

Imagine a road in the middle of a desert, long and straight, and a naked landscape. Road indications with improbable distances: Adelaide, 1512 km; Darwin, 1494 km. In between, a desert with dust and red sand, burnt by the sun, a few petrol stations, isolated houses. Suddenly, a camel eating branches on the side of the road.

Travelling through the Australian outback can be monotonous but bring sometimes nice surprises too: eagles fly in the sky, the only visible living animals in a vegetal environment. Each time we stop we feel the specific atmosphere of these places where everything can be found but with scarcity, and we are quite happy to meet human beings again, after days and days driving through the desert...

Rare and unique moments in beautiful places, magical times when admiring a natural monument, astonishing creations which seem to rise out of the earth… Admiring the rock at Uluru is one of these moments. Everyday the same but each time different. Uluru is one of these natural monuments which seems to speak to humans.

A huge red rock surrounded by desert, changing colours depending on the time of the day… Uluru is unique, each day we come back and each day we discover it. It looks even more impressive in the middle of the day, when the heat is at its peak. We admire the rock when it seems to be on fire at sunset. Most of all, the vision is unique at sunrise: improbable colours, the rock seems alive, and we feel really small. And happy to be here!
