Klein Constantia, Groot Constantia, Buitenverwachting, Uitsig Constantia, L'Ormarins, Vergelegen, Morgenhof, Boschendal, Cabriere… such surprising visits, "too beautiful to be real" domains, remarkable historical heritage. Our visits of the wineries are always interesting, sometimes surprising. Tasting the wines helps us becoming more familiar with the local production of the first country part of our "world wine tour". As a matter of fact, we do prefer white to red wines here, except for the really pleasant Cabernet Sauvignon. |

Time in the desert Wandering in the Karoo desert : rising temperatures, dryer ground, changing landscape… our route follows desert roads in the middle of brown-red rocky mountains and we cross some "forgotten" villages, where the only lively movement is the one of the dust pushed by the wind… |

During these few days in the desert, we also have our first contact with the local fauna : cheetahs, lions, leopards, tigers, crocodiles observed in a wildlife ranch. We learn everything about ostriches when visiting an ostrich farm, and have the opportunity to watch zebras and Bonteboks (an unusually marked antelope) in a national Park.
